White Melamine Faced Baltic Birch Plywood

Description

What is melamine? Melamine is a low density laminate resin that provides a durable finish to plywood cores. Melamine is scratch resistant and water proof. The resin film is bonded to the plywood with a waterproof adhesive.

Unlike most melamine faced materials, MakerStock carries Baltic Birch Plywood core stock.

Between the film overlays is the stacked, layered look characteristic of baltic birch plywood that makers know and love.

The most distinctive feature of Baltic birch is that the edges are attractive, uniform stripes of hardwood veneer, usually alternating light and dark bands. That edge is largely free of voids.

Please note, the edge of a full 4'x8' sheet of material is white. Resulting cuts to your stock size may result in some edges showing natural grain color and/or white overlay color.

Specifications and Dimensions

White Melamine Faced Baltic Birch Plywood is available in 1/4" (6mm), 1/2" (12mm) and 3/4" (18mm) thickness, including the melamine overlay.

The white melamine film density is 220 g/m2 on both sides

To ensure longevity, the edges should be sealed. If the inner plywood cores are exposed to dampness or moisture, the melamine face can warp or distort.

Use a carbide tip and/or masking tape when cutting to avoid chip out or chipping the melamine surface.
