• Is transparent red cast acrylic good for laser cutting? Yes, it’s ideal for CO2 laser cutting, producing clean, glossy edges.

• Can I cut transparent red acrylic with a diode laser? Unfortunately, no. A blue diode laser cannot cut or engrave transparent red acrylic as the laser light passes through the material without being absorbed. We recommend using dark, opaque colors for use with diode lasers.

• What thickness is best for signage or displays? Use 1/8" for lightweight signs or displays; 1/4" for sturdier applications like retail stands, shelving or trophies.

• Can I paint or engrave transparent red acrylic? Yes, using a C02 laser, it engraves beautifully with a frosted white look finish and supports certain paints. We suggest acrylic paints for direct application to acrylic or on engraved sections.

• How do I clean acrylic? Gently remove protective film promptly and wipe with a soft cloth, mild soap, and water. Avoid harsh chemicals to prevent scratching.

• What’s the difference between cast and extruded acrylic? Cast acrylic, like our transparent red sheets, is poured and cured in molds, offering superior optical clarity, a frosted engraving finish, and better durability. Extruded acrylic is rolled into sheets, providing smoother cut edges but less engraving contrast. Cast is preferred for laser cut designs and well defined engraved signage.

• Is this acrylic suitable for outdoor use? Yes, it’s UV-resistant for outdoor durability, resisting fading and weathering for years. Please note, this is not UV-filtering museum grade acrylic.
